ENUGU PDP RECEIVES PROMINENT RETURNEE FROM APC
Peoples Democratic Party, Enugu State chapter has received a prominent
returnee from All Progressive Congress, prince Lawrence Eze of Mburubu
ward, Nkanu East local government area..
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was on the ground to consummate the exercise
at Amagunze, Nkanu East council headquarters amidst other activities
featuring inauguration of projects executed by the council.
Prince Lawrence Eze, had during the activities preceding the last general
elections, defected from PDP to APC, probably due to unsettled grievances in
his pursuit of the Enugu East senatorial seat, but has soon been back to his
earlier political party.
Narrating his experience outside PDP, Prince Eze attributed his return, to the
bi-partisan approach and unity disposition of governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who
had maintained their normal relationship even when he was away from the
party.
Eze noted that he was back to his normal political comfort and promised that
his return would witness mass defections to PDP, as according to him, his
numerous supporters were trailing behind him in the exodus.
PDP Chairman in the state, Augustine Nnamani, expressed joy for the
returnee`s decision to reunite with his political family, noting that he had
fulfilled the requirements to enjoy all rights and privileges accruable from
membership of the party.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who used the occasion to inaugurate some
projects done by the council, commended the chairman, Godwin Ubagu for
his diligence in service.
In their separate remarks, the Nkanu East council chairman, Godwin Ubagu
and member representing the area in the state house of assembly, Paul
Nnajiofor credited the progress witnessed to the enabling environment
provided by the governor, which was also corroborated by the commissioner
for women affairs and social development, Peace Nnaji who spoke on behalf
of stakeholders of the area.
The projects inaugurated were, a high capacity podium with office rooms,
administrative block, a modern public toilet facility and Secretariat buildingfor PDP in the local government area, while a foundation stone was also laid
by the governor for building of the council`s party hall.
