Enugu State Government through the state
Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, has
confirmed that there was no casualty at the site
of the pedestrian bridge under construction in
Garki, Enugu South Local Government Area of the
state, following the unfortunate snap of reinforcement concrete form work on the project.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure,
Engr Greg Nnaji, in a statement shortly after the incident, reiterated the state government’s
committment to the provision of
sustainable infrastructure in the state in line with world best practices.
He said that “the ministry has visited the site for
an on -the -spot assessment” adding that a “stop work” order has been issued on the contractor
handling the construction work of the said pedestrian bridge.
