CP Lawal Reassures Commitment To people-Centred, Accountable Policing System
…Says Tough Time Awaits Unrepentant Criminal Elements
Comissioner of Police, Enugu state Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, has acknowledged the security gains in the peaceful manner in which the people of the state conducted themselves in celebrating the Yuletide.
In a media release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, CP Lawal heartily appreciated the people of the state for the support they accorded the Command in the past year, 2021, noting that, ” while the year generally presented daunting security challenges of different dimensions, the law-abiding citizens of the State must be commended for keeping faith and supporting the Command, especially by celebrating the Yuletide in a peaceful manner, thereby further helping it to stabilise public security and safety, all which resulted in the relative peace that exists in the State”.
The CP urged the people to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any sort, but to maintain their support for the police with credible security information and intelligence, noting that with “all hands on deck, we shall certainly do more”.
He further expressed the Command’s renewed commitment to enthroning a people-centred and accountable policing system, as well as tackling existing and emerging security challenges in the State with the required vigour and tact, while warning criminal elements in State to “turn a new leaf as the Command is fully ready go tougher on them moving forward”.
CP Lawal used the opportunity to enjoin residents of the State to remain law-abiding, vigilant and promptly report criminals and their activities to the nearest Police Station or by calling the Command’s emergency hotlines on: 08032003702, 08075390883 or 08086671202.
