End of Road: Appeal Court Sacks APC Senator
Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has voided the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo, lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Abbo winner of the February 25, 2023 parliamentary election.
But Amos Yohanna, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, rejected the result and headed for the court.
Abbo contested the election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
By this verdict, Yohanna is set to take over the seat from Abbo who earlier had the INEC blessings.
