Infrastructure Provision Not Rocket Science – Eke Joel
An aspirant to the chairmanship seat of Ezeagu local government area of Enugu state, on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Eke Joel Chinedu says he will ride on the disruptive innovation agenda of Governor Peter Mbah to turn around the fortunes of the area.
Eke Joel made the statement while declaring his intention to occupy the number one seat of the local government area in the forthcoming Council elections in Enugu state, come February next year.
During the event of official pronouncement of his ambition and presentation of manifesto anchored on his six-point agenda, he said ” our mission is to make Ezeagu agricultural hub, tourism and cultural destination of Enugu state.
“Our vision is to see Ezeagu local government council one of the twenty local governments in Nigeria that are financially viable”.
While defining the focus of his administration if elected chairman, the PDP aspirant in the manifesto themed ” Cascading Disruptive Innovation Agenda outlined the agenda to include, security, agricultural development, human capital development and poverty reduction, digital technological education, physical infrastructure and service delivery, as well as creative economy, culture and tourism.
“Ezeagu local government area is an agrarian local government area with vast fertile land.
“The local government administration under my watch will first key into the state government agricultural programme”, he noted.
Eke Joel said his government would venture into various productive areas where successive administrations had not paid adequate attention to, in order to bring innovation to bear in his governance.
He noted that road infrastructure would be given priority in partnership with the state government, to give access to all nooks and crannies of the council area with ring roads which could be of immense value to the agriculture and cottage industries.
“On general administration and workers’ welfare, I will make sure that, workers’ welfare is a priority, by rewarding hardworking staff, encourage in- service training with pay, training and retraining programme for all staff of Ezeagu on ICT, within the first three months of our administration, provide subsidised transport services and one meal per day for the staff”, Eke Joel outlined.
