Corps Members Enjoined To Remain Good Ambassadors Of NYSC In Daily Activities

The Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Edo, Olugbenga Fanegan has charged the youths to reflect good character in line with their roles as instruments of public relations for NYSC in their daily activities in the camp and places of primary assignment.
Fanegan while narrating the duties of public relations unit, in his lecture titled “The Activities of Public Relations Unit in NYSC” on Saturday (9/12/23) also advised corps members to be cautious of their dress codes, as it says a lot about them, adding that “the way you dress, is the way you are going to be addressed”.
He emphasised that “there is high need to dress corporate and adequately within NYSC camp”.
The PR manager also advised corps members to project positive image of the scheme throughout their service year, in the respective Local Government Areas, of their Place of Primary Assignment, as “you are the number one image of NYSC scheme”.
While speaking on the importance of NYSC Identification card (I.D Card), Fanegan reminded corps members that they were not allowed to grant press interviews, within their service year.
He further advised corps members to only travel through recognised and approved transits and hence, desist from traveling at night, to avoid unfortunate encounters.
Delivering a lecture on “the role of the youths in the fight against corruption”, The Deputy Commissioner, ICPC, Ansel Eze charged corps members to be the commission’s eyes in the fight against corruption.
Eze while speaking to corps members at the multi-purpose hall, NYSC, Okada Camp, Edo, admonished youths to be aware of their environment during their place of primary assignment and be on alert, so as to report any irregularities and corrupt practices seen.
According to him, “no system is perfect, but there is a pressing need to sanitise the system in order to restructure the image of the country”.
