Food Security: Group Lauds Gov. Mbah On Agriculture Transformation In Enugu
Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-Pres) has lauded Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his administration’s commitment to massive food production in the state.
This commendation was made on Wednesday in his office when the team paid him a courtesy visit.
The National Project Coordinator for L-PRES and also the spokesperson of the group, Sanusi Abubakar stated that the project’s development objective is geared towards enhancing productivity and commercialisation within the Livestock value chain, noting that Enugu State had met the readiness and commitment criteria for project implementation.
The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, who expressed confidence in the state’s capacity to become a global supplier of livestock products, says seeking support from the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, L-PRES, is to actualise this vision.
Governor Mbah, represented by the Deputy Governor Ifeanyi Ossai, stated this at the meeting with delegations from L-PRES, led by the national project task team leader Emmanuel Eseni, as part of the ongoing implementation mission in the state.
Mbah emphasized his administration’s readiness to collaborate with L-PRES, ensuring that investments, supported by the state government’s contribution to the counterpart fund, yield tangible and measurable results, that will leave a lasting impact on the community.
He assured that the state government would fulfill its responsibilities, expecting L-PRES to equally engage in similar efforts to enhance the value and volume of livestock production in Enugu State.
“On our part as Government,we are minded to play our part in every enduring partnership that creates value for our state. And brings progress to our people, that’s why they elected us, And we will stop at nothing till we achieve all that.
“But again we want to work with you closely to ensure that whatever investment we make which we support, by the contribution of paying the counterpart fund that will have trackable value to our people, That is measurable that everybody can say yes,
“Both the L-PRES and Enugu State work together to leave a legacy for the people they serve”, the governor noted.
