PDP wins all 17 local governments in  Enugu

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has cleared all the chairmanship position in the council election held on Saturday.

Chairman of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, Prof. Christian Ngwu, who declared the results said the Commission was thorough in its job of conducting free, fair election.

Declaring the election as the fairest, Ngwu said they carefully collated and analysed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes.

None of the opposition candidates that contested the chairmanship position came to ENSIEC where the election was declared, an indication of surrender to and acceptance to defeat.

Expressing joy at their victory, chairman elect of Uzo-Uwani local government area, Chijioke Ezeugwu, said that he would reactivate the trend of sincere rural development to bring the area at par with its counterparts across the state.

Ezeugwu said that he would make sure that those who are employable would be provided with jobs, and organise skills acquisition programme that would benefit all.

“I’ll make sure that the people of Uzo-Uwani feel the true impact of government to justify their continued support to government.

“Those who are employable, will definitely get employed,”he said.

Our correspondent who monitored the elections across the state, reports that no incident of violence was recorded.
