Owerri 2024:Enugu NUJ Felicitates New National Leadership of the Union 
Enugu State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ,has congratulated the newly elected National President of NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahya on his victory at the just concluded 8th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Union held in Owerri.
In a message jointly signed by the State Chairman of NUJ , Comrade Sam Udekwe and the Secretary Dame Ifeoma Amuta, the union extolled the leadership prowess exhibited by Comrade Yahya at various positions he held previously in NUJ and prayed God to grant him more wisdom to run the affairs of the union as the number one Journalist in the country.
The message further applauded Comrade Yahya for his promising manifesto and expressed hope that that he would work together with his Deputy,Dr Abimbola Oyetunde and other members of the executive of NUJ to actualise his well articulated dream for NUJ and improve on the achievements made by the preceding administration.
Enugu State Council in the message expressed its readiness to give unalloyed support and work in synergy with Comrade Yahya’s administration to achieve the lofty target contained in his manifesto.

Sam Udekwe is a journalist working in the News and Current Affairs department, Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) Enugu. He is well trained in all genres of journalistic venture.
Mr Sam read Mass Communication, graduating all with Distinction in National Diploma, Higher National Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma at IMT, Enugu and Madonna University, Okija, Anambra state, while he is presently on his M.Sc programme also in Mass Communication, at National Open University of Nigeria.
He is currently the NUJ Chairman, Enugu state.
