Eid-el Malud: Enugu CP Felicitates Muslims, Calls For Tolerance, Peaceful Co-existence

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu state command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has felicitated the Muslim faithful in the state on their feast of Eid-el Malud, marking the birth of Prophet Mohammed.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, CP Giwa prayed that “the timeless virtues of peace, love, humility, and sacrifice exemplified by the Holy Prophet shall continue to dwell in our hearts, homes, and land”.

He urged the Muslims and other residents of the state to emulate the cardinal virtues demonstrated by Prophet Mohammed and use the occasion of commemorating His birth to foster peaceful co-existence, tolerance and unity among Nigerians.

He reassured the people of Enugu state of the Command’s commitment to the protection of their lives and property in line with the Force’s rule of maintenance of law and order, during and after the celebration.

According to the statement, CP Giwa “enjoins citizens to be law-abiding, remain vigilant, and promptly report suspected acts of crime and criminality to the nearest Police Station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines: 08032003702 or 08086671202, and the Enugu State Command-and-Control Centre via 112, 09134666668, or 09134448093”.
