By Wilfred Chukwuma

The Southeast Support Movement for Tinubu 2027 has in unison reiterated their commitment to delivering Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The event which took place in Enugu, at the Golden Royal hotel underlines the unwavering Support, commitment and determination of the group in assuring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is successfully re-elected in the 2027 presidential election.

The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, represented by the Senior Special Adviser (SPA) to the Governor on political matters, Hon Frank Anioma while speaking at the event underlined the importance of the southeast states to rally down their support in unison to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

While speaking, he noted that, “Southeast has only 5 states and either before now, these states were scattered in 4 political parties, so it does not give room for representation, politics is about numbers and engagement.

“So, I’m happy that in the Southeast, the remaining Governors, like one of us said earlier, we are looking that they will be able to come together so that Southeast can speak with one voice and have a fair share of the national cake and better representation,” he added.

Anioma while also speaking on the grassroots involvement in the movement, revealed that the movement had an organic support, explaining “when I walked into this place I saw faces from Nsukka, Enugu East, Enugu North, and you can see buses that are packed outside here, these are not hired crowd, these are people from the grassroots and what we have here are representatives of this group from different homes; the coordinators. So as they go home, they castigate the message they have gathered here down to the grassroots.”

He further thanked people of Enugu State for giving their support to the movement, noting that before subsequent progression to the APC, there was engagement, “traditional rulers, religious leaders, local government and councilors, Presidents-General of Town Unions, were all consulted and that is why you have not heard nobody in Enugu State, commissioners or party members say we are not with the Governor, so it is a total movement of Enugu,” he further revealed.

The Director General of the Tinubu Support Group, Umar Tanko Yakasai who thanked the coordinators of the event for the warm reception he received on his arrival to the state, also appreciated the massive support he had witnessed for the course on ground, and hence, buttressed the need for the southeastern states to keep up the energy in the Tinubu’s re-election.

“I believe that this is an opportunity that the southeast might not have realized, but not all the Governors, particularly the working governor of Enugu sates who understands this, that the southeast should go back to their natural politics of belonging to the center,” he stated.

“So, it is easy for the Southeast to reintegrate into the Centre, as always consistently for the past four decades be the central player and gladiator of the national politics, it is easy to comeback.

“We are happy because President Tinubu has led in such a way that he has appeased the mind of everybody in the southeast states, particularly the governors and the people of the southeast is realizing that Mr. President is a President that they should work with, so you can see that Governor Peter Mbah did not move alone, he moved entirely with the Support of the entire citizens and the people at the grassroots of Enugu State” he noted.
