ADC Unveils Timetable for Nationwide Congresses Ahead of National Convention

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released the timetable for its nationwide congresses leading to the party’s national convention.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the party said the exercise would begin with polling unit and ward congresses scheduled for April 7.

The statement, jointly signed by the National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed that local government area congresses would follow on April 9, while state congresses are slated for April 11.

According to the party, the process will culminate in its national convention scheduled to hold on April 14, 2026.

ADC advised members interested in contesting vacant positions to obtain and submit the relevant nomination or expression of interest forms through the party’s official website.

The statement noted that the congresses form part of the party’s constitutional responsibility to renew its leadership structures across all levels of the organisation ahead of the national convention.

“The approved timetable is as follows: Polling Unit and Ward Congresses – April 7, 2026; Local Government Congresses – April 9; State Congresses – April 11; and the National Convention – April 14, 2026,” the statement read.

It added that nomination forms and further details are available on the party’s official website.

The party also urged members across the country to participate actively in the process and conduct themselves in line with the constitution, guidelines and democratic values of the ADC.
