Eid-el-Fitr: Enugu CP Assures Tight Security, Felicitates Muslims
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in the state on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to uphold the virtues of peace, tolerance and sacrifice associated with the season.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner commended Muslims for their prayers and called on them to sustain the spirit of unity and harmony.
The CP disclosed that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free celebration across the state. He noted that personnel, intelligence and operational assets have been strategically deployed, with intensified patrols and increased security presence at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres and other public places.
He further directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Tactical Units to ensure effective supervision of deployments and operations, while maintaining strong collaboration with other security agencies.
While wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration, Giwa urged residents of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant and security conscious. He also encouraged members of the public to promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property and appealed for continued support and cooperation from the public.
