NJF Felicitates Ugwuanyi at 62, Hails His Legacy of Humble Leadership
The Nsukka Journalists Forum (NJF) has extended warm felicitations to former Enugu State Governor and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Greece, Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Benson Ezugwu, the Forum described the former governor, fondly known as Gburugburu, as a distinguished statesman whose legacy is deeply rooted in humility, simplicity, and people-oriented leadership.
The NJF noted that the milestone birthday offers a unique opportunity to reflect on Ugwuanyi’s impactful years in public service, particularly his eight-year tenure as governor of Enugu State, which it said was marked by a rare combination of simplicity and strategic governance.
According to the statement, Ugwuanyi’s leadership style, anchored on empathy, inclusiveness, and humility, stands as a model worthy of emulation by current and future leaders.
“We celebrate a leader whose governance approach prioritised the welfare of the people and fostered unity across the state,” the Forum stated, adding that his achievements remain a source of pride not only to the people of Enugu State but also to associates and admirers nationwide.
The journalists’ body further expressed pride in being associated with the former governor, describing it as a rare honour to identify with a personality of his calibre.
While wishing him continued success in his diplomatic assignment in Greece, the NJF joined family members, friends, and well-wishers across the globe in praying for God’s blessings upon his new age.
The Forum expressed optimism that the ambassador would continue to record greater accomplishments in his service to Nigeria and humanity.
“May your new age be filled with renewed grace and greater achievements,” the statement concluded.
Ugwuanyi, who currently serves as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Greece, remains widely regarded for his calm disposition and inclusive governance style during his time as governor.
