Breaking: Mbah Approves New Appointments to Key Enugu State Institutions
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State has approved the appointment of new members and principal officers to several key state institutions as part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional governance, deepen reforms and enhance effective service delivery.
According to the statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia,on Friday, 4/9/26, the appointments, which take immediate effect, affect the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, the Governing Councils of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, and the Enugu State College of Education (Technical), ESCET.
For the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Prof. Gabriel Ajah was appointed Chairman, while Christian Mbah, Mrs Stella Ekweremadu, Mrs Theresa Onyefuzili Ifeanyichukwu and Uzonna Emmanuel Ogarabe were appointed members. Ambrose Nwodo is the new Secretary.
In the Enugu State Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, Dr Amaka S. Ngene will serve as Chairman, with Bonaventure Onu, Nnadi Eluke,Esq and Kingsley Agwu as members, while Mrs Joy Odike was appointed Secretary.
For the ESUT Governing Council, Victor Chukwuani,Esq was appointed Chairman. Other members are Engr James Ifeanyichukwu Ajibo, Dr Eric Oluedo, Dr Mrs Gladys Ngozi Okoro and Chukwu Chikaodiri Joy.
Similarly, Hon. Chinedu Onu is the new Chairman of the IMT Governing Council, with Dr Barth Nwankwo, Emeka Ede,Esq, Mrs Rita Chimaobi and Prince Tony Nwonye as members.
At the Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, Rev. Fr Prof. Anthony Aniagboso Igwe has been appointed Rector, while Deaconess Ifeoma Nwobodo will serve as Chairman of the Governing Council. Other members are Obinna Aleke, Henry Okeke,Esq and Emeka Abba.
For the Enugu State College of Education (Technical), ESCET, Nwabueze Ugwu,Esq was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council, alongside Prince Cletus Ajaegbu, Dr Chiesonu Isiga Eruchalu, Dr Chukwuemeka Nwatu and Theophilus Onyebeke as members.
According to the state government, the appointments are aimed at consolidating the administration’s institutional reforms, strengthening governance structures and ensuring improved efficiency and accountability across the affected institutions.
The appointments take effect immediately.
