Security Agents Intercept Travellers Violating Restriction Orders Across Enugu Land Borders

In the enforcement of restriction of movement beyond boundaries of Enugu state,to prevent spread of COVID -19 pandemic, security agents have Intercepted commuters travelling from other states.

It was at a military checkpoint at Opi, along Nkwo Nike-Opi road, Nsukka local government area, it turned out a black moment for some Travellers violating the travel restriction order, as they were held to a standstill by the soldiers, in line with the rules by the state government suspending inter-state movement into the state, as one of the measures to check spread of the pandemic.

While

some of them claimed to be travelling from Rivers area heading northwards, others were conversely moving southwards from the northern axis across the Enugu–Benue border.

It was generally a sight of frustrated individuals at the mercy of hardship occasioned by the restrictions, to contain the spread of the coronavirus, as they rightly lamented of hunger, hence the decision to head for their respective homes of origin.

They pleased to be allowed to find their way out of the state to continue the adventure to their various destinations which was granted them with police escort to the boundaries, to ensure their exit from the state.

This of course, was a clear demonstration that although Enugu had zero active case of the pandemic, it gave nothing to chance to ensure that the state remained safe from the disease.
