Bandits Strike Again in Kebbi, Abduct Farmers in Fresh Attack
Armed bandits have staged yet another devastating attack in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, abducting several farmers on Saturday afternoon.
Security analyst, Bakastine, disclosed the incident on his X handle, raising renewed alarm over the worsening security situation in the area.
The latest onslaught comes barely days after armed men invaded the same community, kidnapping 25 schoolgirls and killing the school’s vice-principal. Residents say the persistent attacks have heightened fear and tension despite the presence of security operatives in the state.
Bakastine wrote, “This afternoon, armed bandits launched another attack on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, abducting several farmers. The incident comes less than ten days after a previous raid in the community in which more than 40 people were abducted.”
The repeated assaults have triggered outrage on social media, with community members questioning the government’s capacity to rein in the escalating violence.
Residents are calling for urgent intervention from both state and federal authorities, including enhanced security deployment and immediate humanitarian support for affected families.
