Enugu Police Command Bags, West Africa, Nigeria’s Best Crime-Busting CP,PPRO Awards
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has been honoured as the 2025 Best Crime-Busting Police Chief in West Africa, while the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Daniel Ndukwe, has received the Best Police Public Relations Officer in Nigeria award.
The honours were conferred by the Security Watch Africa Initiative and presented at the Enugu State Police Command Headquarters, GRA, Enugu.
Presenting the awards, the International Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the initiative, Mr. Patrick Agbambu, said the recipients were selected following a comprehensive review of their policing antecedents, professional achievements and contributions to security and public relations in Enugu State.
Agbambu commended CP Giwa for his proactive approach to crime prevention and combating criminality, urging him to sustain the tempo in the interest of public safety and security.
He also praised SP Ndukwe for his strategic and effective police-public relations initiatives, which he said had contributed to strengthening communication between the Police and members of the public.
Responding, CP Giwa expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition, attributing his achievements in Enugu State to Almighty God and the support of the State Government, law-abiding citizens and other stakeholders.
The Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the Command’s efforts towards preventing and combating crime across the state.
Similarly, SP Ndukwe appreciated the Security Watch Africa Initiative for the honour, describing the recognition as a reflection of the collective efforts of the Command.
He dedicated the award to Almighty God, CP Giwa and the people of Enugu State for their continued support and cooperation with the Police.
The awards formed part of the 19th Africa Security Watch Awards, following the 19th Africa Security Watch Conference held in July 2026 at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre, Banjul, The Gambia.
