Mbah Extends Enugu Curfew to 10pm, Ends Keke Ticketing
… Announces new measures at tricycle riders’ One – Million – Man March
Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, has extended the state’s 9:00 p.m. movement restriction to 10:00 p.m., while directing an immediate end to the issuance of tickets to commercial tricycle operators under the previous enforcement arrangement.
Mbah announced the measures on Saturday, October 17, 2026, during the One Million Man March organised by the Tricycle Riders Union in Enugu State.
The extension gives residents, motorists and other road users an additional hour to move around and conduct their legitimate businesses before the restriction takes effect.
The governor also directed that commercial tricycle operators, popularly known as keke riders, should no longer be issued tickets under the previous enforcement arrangement.
The directives are expected to ease the challenges faced by transport operators and other road users under the earlier movement restrictions and ticketing system.
The announcement comes amid concerns over the enforcement of movement restrictions and the operational conditions of commercial transport operators across the state.
Residents and transport operators are expected to comply with the revised movement schedule and observe any further guidelines issued by the state government.
