Anambra Election: There should be synergy between those at the National Assembly and the State-Odili

An aspirant to the Senate for Anambra North Senatorial District, Chief Primus Odili has called for a redirection of focus by the people’s representatives at all levels of governance to be people -driven to advance development.
Fielding questions from journalists when Omambala Media Practitioners paid him a courtesy call at his Aguleri country home, Anambra East local government area, Chief Odili who participated in the Senatorial race on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance,APGA in the last general election observed that people are usually deceived by some political officers with the so-called stomach infrastructure without achieving their real economic needs.

“Now people at the National Assembly once they get in there, they will no longer talk about constituency projects,they no longer talk about attracting development to their Senatorial zones, they just amass wealth they will use to run the next elections”,Odili said.
He however blamed the people for sometimes exchanging money for their conscience to determine who to vote for saying”time has come for people to go beyond the level of the naive in casting their votes, time has come for us to go beyond money politics, stomach infrastructure empowerment and that will summarize the Senate”.
The ex-Chief Of Staff to former Governor Willie Obiano further admonished people to always insist on voting the best into power and “not to sacrifice competence at the altar of the sentiment of where they come from”.
Chief Odili disclosed that uppermost in his ambition was his burning desire to close the gap in the sharing of the dividends of democracy as it affects the people of Anambra North senatorial district.
“At each point in time we feel marginalized,we feel marginalized from the federal level,even the state as people from Anambra North,assessing the poorest of the poor in the state, places like Ayamelum,Anambra East, Anambra West, Ogbaru and part of Oyi are in the picture, in fact you can do a documentary of those areas and understand more”, he emphasized.
The Chief Executive Officer of a US-based health institution,E O Golden Life Ink, recalled that while serving in the last administration, he contributed to the recognition of Anambra as an oil producing state, regretting that oil theft had lingered there long before the certification.
“A lot of people didn’t believe that there’s oil deposit in Anambra in commercial quantities because they were stealing it. Some companies had been in Anambra taking the oil and it might interest you to know that there’s more gas in Anambra than oil”, Odili noted.
On the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, he observed that candidates must contest under other political parties to justify the political protocol because every political party believes they have the best candidate, but “we’ve looked around and seen that Soludo is the best among all the candidates, he stands out in his words,in his thoughts in his actions”.
