The suspects were reportedly seeking a buyer for a stolen yellow-and-black Bajaj tricycle at the time of their arrest.

During interrogation, the trio confessed to stealing the tricycle, with Bauchi Registration Number NNG 445 WZ, from where it was parked in the Obiagu area of the state capital on the night of January 19, 2026.

The statement confirmed that the stolen tricycle has been recovered as an exhibit.

“Discreet investigations are ongoing to arrest other members of the suspected tricycle theft syndicate and recover additional exhibits,” SP Ndukwe stated, adding that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of the investigation.
