Enugu North Traditional Rulers Hail Asogwa’s By-Election Victory, Promise Royal Support
The Enugu North Zonal Council of Traditional Rulers has congratulated the Senator-elect for Enugu North Senatorial District, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, on his victory in the recently concluded senatorial by-election, describing the outcome as a clear demonstration of the people’s confidence in his leadership credentials and capacity to deliver quality representation.
The royal fathers, through the Zonal Chairman of the council, Igwe Herbert Nwanosike Ukuta, and the Zonal Secretary, Igwe Anikwe Josephat Uchenna, said the overwhelming mandate given to the senator-elect reflected his track record of service and the trust reposed in him by the people of the district.
In a congratulatory message issued on Monday on behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire Enugu North Zonal Council of Traditional Rulers, the monarchs described Asogwa’s victory as “resounding,” noting that it was a testament to his quality leadership, sound personality and remarkable achievements in previous public offices.
According to the royal leaders, the election result also signifies the high expectations of the people of Enugu North, who are looking forward to purposeful representation capable of advancing the development of the senatorial district.
Speaking on behalf of the council, the Zonal Chairman, Igwe Ukuta, said the traditional institution was delighted with the outcome of the poll, expressing optimism that the senator-elect would justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate.
The monarch who is the traditional ruler of Igga community in Uzo-uwani local government area, stated that the council believes Asogwa possesses the leadership qualities required to provide effective representation at the National Assembly and to pursue policies and programmes that would benefit the people of Enugu North.
“The cap fits,” the chairman declared, adding that the traditional rulers were confident that greater accomplishments lay ahead under the senator-elect’s stewardship.
He further assured Asogwa of the unwavering support and prayers of the traditional institution throughout his tenure, emphasizing that the royal fathers would continue to stand behind every genuine effort aimed at promoting peace, unity and sustainable development across the zone.
The royal council stated that the senator-elect’s emergence as an answer to the prayers of the people of Enugu North, expressing confidence that his tenure would usher in greater progress for the district.
They prayed that God would grant Asogwa uncommon wisdom, strength and renewed commitment to meet the aspirations of the people and provide the quality representation they deserve.
The Council reiterated that the Enugu North Zonal Council of Traditional Rulers remains committed to supporting the senator-elect through continuous prayers and constructive engagement, expressing hope that his administration would bring lasting dividends of democracy to every community within the senatorial district.
The royal fathers extended their heartfelt congratulations to Chief Asogwa and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in the Senate.
