Mbah Appoints 23 Aides, Unveils Fresh Team for Labour, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Others
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved the appointment of 23 persons as Special Advisers (SPAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), in a move aimed at strengthening the machinery of government and enhancing coordination across key sectors of the state.
The appointments, contained in a public service release signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday, take immediate effect.
The new appointees are drawn from various fields, with portfolios covering labour relations, agriculture, infrastructure compliance, investment, rural development, party mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation, tourism, public communication, policy, research and strategy, among others.
Those appointed as Special Advisers include Hon. Chukwudi Ezinwa, Special Adviser on Labour Union and Association Matters; Hon. Sunday Nnamani, popularly known as Orlando, Special Adviser on Special Duties; and Mr Williams Chukwu, Special Adviser on Agriculture.
Others are Prince Afam Agana, Special Adviser on Infrastructure Compliance; Humphrey Onyima, Special Adviser on Investment Strategy and Public Relations; Hon. Tony Ugwu, Special Adviser on Rural Development; and Chief Ernest Nweze, Special Adviser on Party Coordination and Mobilisation.
Also appointed as Special Advisers are Hon. Emeka Onunze, Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation, while former chairman, Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Mr Robinson Odo (mni), was appointed Special Adviser on Labour and Productivity.
The Governor also appointed 14 Senior Special Assistants to oversee various areas of government and public engagement.
They include Pastor Kenneth Asogwa (Ebube Muonso), Senior Special Assistant on Heritage and Community Relations; Pastor Tochukwu Ogbodo, Senior Special Assistant on Social Engagement; Barr Lucky Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs; and Belonwu Nnaji, Senior Special Assistant on Cultural Orientation.
Others are Hon. Steve Odo, Senior Special Assistant on Tourism; Hon. Francis Ikewette Ede, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication; Mr Sunny Okafor, Senior Special Assistant on General Duties; and Hon. Chinedu Okwu Otaka, Senior Special Assistant on Social Orientation and Mobilisation.
The list further includes Otaba Cosmas Ikechukwu, Senior Special Assistant on Protection of Public Utilities; Pius Okeagu, Senior Special Assistant on Assets Management; Rt Hon. Innocent Emeka Ugwu, Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs; and Mrs Eucharia Offor, Senior Special Assistant on Human Resource Management.
Mr Kenneth Oforma, a seasoned journalist was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Policy and Communication, while Kelvin Ede takes the position of Senior Special Assistant on Research and Strategy.
The appointments come as the Mbah administration continues to expand its administrative and policy architecture, with responsibilities distributed across specialised areas considered critical to the implementation of government programmes and engagement with stakeholders.
