Over 4,000 Households Displaced as Violence Escalates in Benue; ActionAid Launches Emergency Relief
Ongoing violence in Benue State has forced more than 4,000 families from their homes, with several casualties reported in attacks affecting communities in Kwande, Gwer West, and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas.
In a swift humanitarian response, ActionAid Nigeria, with backing from the START Network, has rolled out emergency support to the impacted areas. The relief package includes:
Cash-based financial assistance
Essential non-food relief supplies
Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services
This intervention is designed to provide immediate relief and strengthen the coping capacity of displaced individuals and communities facing hardship.
