Enugu state government has inaugurated the first batch of 272 men and women trained as special constabulary officers under the community policing programme of the Nigeria Police Force.
This followed the accomplishment of the process of enlisting the able bodied youths drawn from the 17 local government areas of the state, in accordance with the laid down rules establishing the programme.
