Minister of Information and Orientation, Idris Mohammed has lauded the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration for the developmental projects executed in Enugu State and Southeast at large.

The Minister during a media Parley at the International Conference Centre, Enugu, acknowledged the development based synergy between the Federal government of the Tinubu- led administration and the Enugu state government of Governor Peter Mbah, describing it as a necessity for “meaningful development.”

“President Ahmed Tinubu is distributing resources, making progress that will empower people, irrespective of the political party.

“Wherever you are, whichever political party you belong to, the government of President Bola-Ahmed Tinubu will ensure that the impact of democracy hits you, and if the impact of democracy touches you, it will also touch everybody” he said.

While speaking on the development projects and policies by the Federal government in Enugu state and Southeast, the Minister listed the RENEWED HOPE AGENDA, 350-kilometer road connecting Enugu, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom and Cross-River States, procurement of world class medical machines for Cancer treatment and commissioning of world class cancer treatment session in the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), rehabilitation of Healthcare Centres in the Southeast, removal of fuel subsidy to free up resources for capital projects, as well as other positive reforms.
He described the development activities of the Enugu state government as he confirmed having witnessed earlier in the day during his courtesy tour of the state as a “visible development,” of good governance and also reiterated the readiness of the federal government to support the state and the entire Southeast.

Also, the Enugu State Commissioner for Information, Dr Malachy Agbo commended the Minister of Information for the effort by his ministry in organising an “open dialogue” in the state.

He further noted that such engagement would foster positive exchange of ideas, which when shared, “will change decisions that will directly touch the lives of Nigerians, especially in the southeast and Enugu state in particular.”

The Commissioner while speaking on the effort of President Bola-Ahmed Tinubu in supporting Enugu state and Southeast, also reaffirmed the state’s readiness to support his efforts in building a better nation.

“Please permit me to present our profound gratitude to Mr President for choosing our state for this engagement.

“We assure him of our full cooperation, and our readiness to partner the federal government in building a responsible and better Nigeria,” he noted.

He expressed hope that the federal government would continue its cooperation and support to the development of Enugu State and Southeast in general.

Other prominent stakeholders while appreciating the federal government for its support so far, also lent their voices to the cause of development and asked for more opportunities for both the state and the youths of the nation, which they partly described as “a relative cure to several crimes and insecurity”.

Notably, the event was heavily graced by prominent members of the society among whom were Commissioners, Legislators, Directors General (DGs), Journalists, women organisations, Heads of many professional bodies, traditional rulers, among others.
