Enugu Govt Closes Abakpa Road For Construction
Enugu state government will on Thursday, October 2, 2025, close the Abakpa Nike Road under construction, for three weeks, to complete the box culvert at the Last Bus Stop end, as part of its ongoing dualisation work on the road.
The Public Relations Officer of the state ministry of works and infrastructure, Ngozi Ngene in a statement by the ministry, regretted that “we understand this may cause inconvenience and seek your understanding and cooperation during this period”.
Ngene explained “to alleviate traffic issues, alternative routes such as:
Obinagu Road;Texaco – Amurri road – Nowas Junction – T-Junction; Liberty – Edward Nnaji Street- Ugwunwani Street- Corner Stone – T-Junction; Liberty – Edward Nnaji Street – Ogwuago – Harmony road – Nkwo Nike Junction / Nike Lake, have all been prepared for vehicles and road users. Please use these routes to navigate around the construction area”.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and earnestly plead with the general public and Abakpa residents in particular to bear with the State Government as we strive to improve our road infrastructure for a better tomorrow”, she added.
The road closure commences midnight on the Thursday.
