Breaking: Court Summons Nnamdi Kanu to Appear in Abuja
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has summoned the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to appear before it on November 28.
Confirming the development, Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, disclosed that the summons is connected to the harmonisation and settlement of records for an appeal filed by the IPOB leader ahead of the court’s expected judgment on November 20.
He explained that Kanu, who is currently being held at the Sokoto Prison, can only be moved to Abuja through a production warrant issued by the court. However, the court is said to have declined issuing the warrant, creating uncertainty over how Kanu will be conveyed to the Federal Capital Territory for the scheduled proceeding.
The development has sparked fresh concerns among supporters and observers, who say the refusal to issue the warrant may further complicate Kanu’s legal battle.
