Mbah’s Security Investment a “Game-Changer”, Says Enugu CP
The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has hailed Governor Peter Mbah for equipping security agencies in the state with a new tranche of advanced crime-fighting tools, describing the intervention as a major boost to policing capacity and a turning point in the fight against crime.
The equipment, procured through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund and unveiled on Monday in Enugu, includes long-range surveillance drones, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests, operational vehicles, and high-mobility motorcycles.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Commissioner said the governor’s investment underscores his administration’s “consistent commitment to strengthening internal security, enhancing operational efficiency, and guaranteeing a safer environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.”
Giwa noted that the new devices will significantly reinforce intelligence-driven policing and bolster crime-prevention strategies, especially in flashpoint areas requiring rapid response. He added that the deployment of the equipment will support more effective crime detection, tracking, aerial surveillance, coordinated field operations, and improved protection for operatives on duty.
Reaffirming the readiness of the Police to make optimal and judicious use of the equipment, the Commissioner assured Enugu residents of improved security outcomes across the state, particularly during the festive season.
He commended Governor Mbah for what he described as an unwavering commitment to security, stressing that the administration’s investments align with the understanding that “security and safety remain the bedrock of sustainable development.”
Giwa urged the public to remain alert and supportive by reporting suspicious persons and activities, and by providing credible information that could help security agencies maintain peace and order in the state.
