COVID-19 : Enugu Unveils Coalcity Rice, Distributes As Palliative
Enugu State government has unveiled her home–grown Coalcity rice brand which will be distributed to the people of the state as a Palliative for the hardship posed by effect of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Simon Ortuanya who performed the function on behalf of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said it was part of the government’s response for successful fight against the COVID-19 and step further in the quest for economy diversification.
Professor Ortuanya indicated that distribution of the coalcity rice to the specified categories of beneficiaries would commence next week.
The coalcity rice brand which is planted, processed and packaged in Enugu state, is stone-free, long grain variety with standardised production.
The state commissioner for Agriculture, Matthew Idu and Special Adviser to the governor on Agriculture, weere on the ground at the event.
