Appeal Court Sacks David Mark as ADC National Chairman, Affirms Nafiu Bala
The Court of Appeal has reportedly removed former Senate President, David Mark, as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), affirming Nafiu Bala as the authentic leader of the party.
The appellate court ruling is said to have resolved the lingering leadership dispute within the party, with the panel of justices recognising Bala as the legitimate National Chairman and granting him the authority to oversee the affairs of the party.
The judgment has already sparked reactions in political circles, with observers noting that the development could significantly reshape the internal structure of the ADC and influence the party’s direction in the months ahead.
Political analysts have also drawn attention to the fact that Bala is widely regarded as an ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, suggesting that the ruling may have implications for political alignments as parties continue to reposition ahead of future electoral contests.
As of the time of filing this report, Mark had yet to issue any official public reaction to the judgment. However, political watchers believe the decision could prompt further legal or political steps from the faction that backed his leadership.
With the court affirming Bala as chairman, stakeholders within the party are expected to focus on stabilising its leadership structure after months of internal crisis, while observers await how various factions within the party will respond to the ruling.
