Ugwuerua Mobilises Nsukka Ward for APC E-Registration, Calls for Mass Participation

A former member of the 7th Enugu State House of Assembly, Dr Emma Ugwuerua, has mobilised members of Ibagwa-Ani–Ibagwa-Agu–Okpaligbo Ward in Nsukka West State Constituency, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, to actively participate in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) membership e-registration exercise, describing it as vital to the political relevance and strength of the ward.
The sensitisation programme, held at Ugwuerua’s residence in Ibagwa-Ani, attracted over 200 participants, including youths, women, men, community leaders and members of the Hausa community within the ward.

Addressing the gathering, Ugwuerua urged proponents of good governance to support the APC by embracing the e-registration exercise, stressing that contemporary politics is driven by numbers and proper documentation.
“Politics today is driven by numbers and proper documentation. Active participation involves taking part in all party activities, including membership registration, attending meetings, obtaining a voter’s card and voting during elections. Therefore, if you support the APC, you must ensure you are registered,” he said.
He warned that failure to participate in the exercise would weaken the ward’s influence within the party structure.
“If our people are not registered, our voices will not be heard. But when we register in large numbers, our ward and constituency become stronger and more relevant,” he added.
The former lawmaker described the exercise as free, transparent and inclusive, noting that it was aimed at strengthening internal democracy and ensuring accurate documentation of party members.
“This registration is not meant to inconvenience anyone. It is free, simple and in our collective interest. It will enable the party to know its true members and help our people access opportunities when the need arises,” he stated.

Ugwuerua also commended the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for what he described as fidelity to campaign promises through the execution of development projects across the state. He further praised the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, for his grassroots governance efforts.
He lauded members of the Hausa community in the area for declaring support for the APC, assuring them of effective collaboration in building a transparent, sustainable and inclusive party structure.
In his remarks, the Seriki Hausa Wa of Nsukka West and leader of the Hausa community in Ibagwa-Ani, Danlami Audu Mohammed, described Ugwuerua as a focused, patient and resilient leader. Mohammed, who is also the Chief Imam of the Muslim community in the area, disclosed that the Hausa community had unanimously resolved to join the APC, citing the party’s performance.

Other speakers, including the APC Ward Caretaker Chairman, Mr. Bennett Asogwa; the councillor representing the ward in the Nsukka Local Government Legislative Council and Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Silas Onyebuchi Eze; the President-General of Ibagwa-Ani Town Union, Mr Frederick Eze; Hon. Juliet Oloto; and Surveyor Nkem Oloto, a former member of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board, pledged to intensify mobilisation across the ward to ensure the success of the e-registration exercise.
The event also featured the official registration of Hon. Ugwuerua and Surveyor Nkem Oloto as members of the All Progressives Congress.
